Our Siaya Diabetes Specific Medical Drive that took place at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Siaya Campus saw over 500 patients screened and those presenting and already living with diabetes seen by the Medical Drive lead Dr. Nicola Okech.
The integrated Medical Camp had a hybrid of an Academic session with the students from both KMTC and Uzima University hear from our lead and accompanying professionals on the intricacies of diabetes management and the patient doctor interaction later.
interesting to note is our community diagnosis from this session.
3 out of every 5 residents who walked in and were screened were presenting with diabetic symptoms which if extrapolated points at a concerning health situation in the locality.
All the diagnosed diabetic patients received medication from our partners Dawa Life Sciences , Crown Healthcare Africa, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, SQUARE PHARMACEUTICALS KENYA.
We also thank our research and academic partner Uzima University for coming on board with medical trainee students who helped heavily at the drive.
