These drives are a part of our commitment to advancing respiratory health, raising awareness about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and supporting early diagnosis and treatment for those affected. ### Purpose of the COPD/RESP Medical Drives COPD and other respiratory conditions represent a rising health challenge, particularly in rural and underserved communities where access to specialized care is limited. CDS-A’s medical drives are designed to bridge this gap by providing free screenings, consultations, and education on respiratory health. Through these drives, we aim to: - Increase awareness and understanding of COPD and respiratory conditions. - Provide access to early diagnosis, which is crucial for better management of these chronic diseases. - Offer tailored advice on lifestyle changes and self-management for those affected. - Connect patients with resources and specialists for ongoing care and support. ### What to Expect at the COPD/RESP Medical Drives Each drive will be hosted in accessible community locations within counties across Kenya and will offer: - **Free COPD Screenings:** Spirometry and other respiratory assessments will help detect early signs of COPD and other respiratory conditions. - **Consultations with Respiratory Health Experts:** Individuals can meet with pulmonologists and healthcare providers to discuss symptoms, treatment options, and preventive measures. - **Educational Workshops:** Our workshops will cover essential topics such as managing respiratory diseases, understanding risk factors, and steps to reduce exposure to pollutants. - **Resource Distribution:** Attendees will receive informational materials and tools for managing respiratory health at home, including inhalers, masks, and information on proper breathing techniques. ### Schedule and Locations The COPD/RESP Medical Drives will take place in select counties across Kenya. A full schedule, including dates and venues, will be shared on our website and social media platforms in the coming weeks.
